Ornaments

Anthropologie has some great Christmas ornaments on their site right now. I wish i could make them myself. If only I knew how to crochet, but luckily I'm a wiz with felt! I'm adoring the colors and the kitsch feel of these. Check out more super cute ornaments at Anthropologie.com.

Brainstorm

WOW. I love these. The patterns and colors... I love every single print! I want to wall paper my walls with these, or at least have one in each room on my house. Check out Brainstorm Print and Design.

Wrapping Paper Design

I stumbled upon this wrapping paper design, and since I'm practically an elf I basically freaked out. I love this idea for wrapping paper! And it is completely universal for so many holidays! The gift giver in my is screaming and full of joy right now. I couldn't find much info on it besides... Design and art direction: Fabio Milito, Francesca Guidotti. So super props to them!

drooling.....

Christmas Design

So I love Christmas. I probably could quality as an Elf. Today while shopping I stumbled upon this random soap. I don't care thats it's Egyptian Cotton scented Foaming Hand Lotion, but I do love the design on the label. I love the vectors images creating the tree. I love the colors and it's whole feel in general. I'm definitely keeping this in mind when I'm designing the family Christmas card.

Color Schemes

Weddings are typically known for their color schemes (among other things), and besides the cake, it's one of my favorite parts of weddings. Now marriage is no where on my radar and the only reason I look at wedding blogs is to see interesting color schemes (and pretty flowers and yummy cake) that can help inspired designs! I stumbled upon one wedding site, 100LayerCake. It's really just a blog right now, apparently more is coming soon. but they provide great visuals of color schemes! I just love them.

Delicious! I love color schemes! They really are inspiring, specially if you've never thought of pairing one color with another. Wedding blogs/sites usually have some amazing print work featured on them too. People have gotten really creative with their invitations, place markers, and favors. Check out 100LayerCake and get inspired!

Chocolate Milk to Vintage Design

Chocolate Milk is a trending topic on Twitter right now. Haha - this is quite amusing to me for some reason... probably because I LOVE chocolate milk! Yumm.
So this inspired me to Google/Flickr search "chocolate milk" and see if anything interesting pops up. Here are some of the entertaining images I came across.

Not, very successful in the interesting design aspect, but I am always a fan of vintage package design. I have a few old magazines from the 50's and 60's and I love looking at and studying. Classically designed ads, old lingo, and a personality that is completely different than what you see now.

Shwood Sunglasses "Experiment With Nature"

Wow. I want these. Portland's Shwood Sunglasses is blowing my mind. I want to wear them all day and all night. And not because my future is so bright, I just ADORED these! They are wooden frames. Beautiful, wooden frames. Like the classic Wayfarers, but better. Much better. It's such a fresh spin to put on sunglasses, specially in a world where everyone is wearing the same thing on their face. They handcraft these sunglasses out of Zebrawood, Wenge and Maple while making sure that the beautiful grain is preserved and on display.

Here is what they have to say about their amazing product on their website...
"A simple experiment with nature. A brand spawned from nothing more than the constant search for fresh aesthetic appeal. Utilizing one of the earth’s most abundant natural resources, Shwood is handcrafted eyewear created with the intent of individuality and uniqueness that can only be found in natural surroundings. Free from passing trends, the brand’s focus remains that of its roots, innovation and creation. Long live creativity.

Shwood’s in-house manufacturing process merges precision technology with classic skilled craftsmanship to create a timeless art form. Every step from veneering and precision ply cutting, to shaping and finishing is conducted in our own Portland-based workshop to promise an entirely handcrafted eyewear piece. Wood manipulation is kept to a minimum in order to showcase the medium’s natural and unique splendor. All models are accompanied by 100% UVA/UVB protection Carl Zeiss lenses imported from Italy. Polarized lenses are also available."

Kicking this off!

Finally I've put this thing together the way I want, and now I'm reading to dive head-first into the blogosphere. I'll start this off with a bit of a bio. Hi, I'm Lynna. I'm a 21 year old senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. I'm studying creative advertising and I love every bit of it, even if it makes me want to run and scream through the streets of Richmond and push kids off their fixed gears. As for future plans, ask me in a few months ... I have too many ideas for plans, but nothing pinned down as of yet (or anytime soon).

I'm hoping to make this blog a collection of things that I encounter on the interwebs and real life (what? they aren't the same thing?). Design, pop culture, pretty little things, anything that inspire me. Get ready!
